Mission
The mission of the American Massage Therapy Association Arizona Chapter (AMTA-AZ) is to develop and advance the art, Science, and practice of massage therapy in a caring, professional and ethical manner in order to promote the health and welfare of humanity in Arizona.

Goals

1. To establish massage therapy as integral to the maintenance of good health.
2. To increase public awareness of massage therapy and the profession.
3. To promote high standards in providing massage therapy to the public.
4. To increase access to quality massage therapy for all persons.
5. To be an influential member of the health care community.
6. To be a leader and a resource for issues in the field of massage therapy including: definitions, practice and education standards, legislation and regulation.
7. To enhance the professional development and personal growth of members.
8. To continue the Chapter's growth, development, organizational effectiveness and visibility.

In the pursuit of the above goals, AMTA-AZ will be guided by the values of care and competency.

Goal 1. To establish massage therapy as integral to the maintenance of good health.

1.1   Support research directed toward the therapeutic effectiveness of massage.

1.2   Create position statements which articulate the therapeutic effectiveness of massage.

Goal 2. To increase public awareness of massage therapy and the profession.

2.1   Create public relations programs.

2.2   Create a public relations program directed to other health care organizations.

2.3   Create a public relations program directed to educational institutions.

2.4   Create a media relations program.

2.5   Develop a public relations program with directors of organizations (i.e.: sports, charity events, health fairs, trade shows, etc.)

2.6   Provide table massage and/or chair massage at events.

2.7   Create AMTA-AZ response team to provide massage in the field.
