The Arizona Chapter is proud to announce the winners of a state-wide essay contest for massage therapy students. We invited all massage therapy students in the state to participate in this contest for a chance to win a free, Chapter-sponsored continuing education workshop in 2011. Students did not need to be current AMTA members to enter.
The topic of the essay contest was: What Unexpected Lesson Have You Learned as a Massage Student? Entries were judged on relevance to the essay topic, writing skills, creativity and originality. Three first place winners and three second place winners were chosen by the Arizona Chapter Board of Directors.
Gary Gabriel, a student at Brookline College in Tempe, Myra Pucilowski, a student at Cortiva Institute in Tucson, and Leanna Glenn, a student at Central Arizona College in Coolidge, are the first place winners. Each received a gift certificate for a free workshop in 2011.
Jennifer Link, a student at Phoenix College in Phoenix, Kerry Martin, a student at Cortiva Institute in Tucson, and Libby Barnes, a student at Cortiva Institute in Scottsdale, are the second place winners. Each received a gift certificate for $50 towards a workshop in 2011.
